ABOUT MONGOLIA
From five-star shopping in the capital, to dinosaur fossil hunting in the Gobi, to the most remote adventure destinations in the world, Mongolia has it all.
Once a Soviet satellite, Mongolia has embraced the world since its democratic revolution in 1990.
Today it is one of the world’s fastest growing economies but still with the lowest population density on earth.
Businesspeople come to Mongolia to invest and work in a dynamic and growing commercial environment, rich in natural resources, underpinned by a strong democracy, independent judiciary and strong global banks.
Tourists come to enjoy Mongolia's unique Naadam and Eagle festivals, its first-world shopping and entertainment options, and to explore a remote land, the same size as Western Europe, but with just three million people, one million of whom are nomadic herders. Whether in the Gobi desert, on the steppe, or the lakes, glaciers and mountains, locals will always genuinely welcome a visitor to stay - from Marco Polo in the 13th century to you today.
In Ulaanbaatar, world-class schools and hospitals make Mongolia a place for families.
Once history’s largest and most powerful empire under Khans like Genghis and Kublai, Mongolia has good relations with its neighbours Russia and China, with Japan, Korea, the United States and Europe, and with all the countries of the world.
